TCM Acupuncture

TCM Acupuncture is the ancient practice of inserting fine needles into specific points along channels in the body that help to prevent and treat a wide range of health issues. The points chosen in a treatment manipulate the body’s energy and blood to promote healing. It can help relieve pain, regulate, and strengthen bodily organs, improve the immune system, relax muscles, calm the mind, and harmonize the body’s functions.

To determine which treatment should be applied the practitioner analyses the patient's pulse, tongue and takes a summary of the patient's overall health.

It is best to wear loose fitting clothing that can be rolled up to allow access to points around the knees, elbows and abdomen. A session might also involve treating the reflex points of the ears or feet and in some cases cupping can be used.

TCM Acupuncture treatments differ from contemporary treatments as they treat the body as a holistic system. It takes into account how each organ is interacting with another, as well as how emotions and diet are affecting the internal organs and how the internal organs affect the emotions, diet and external organs.
