Summer plans

In this newsletter, I want to tell you about one of the seemingly best kept secrets around the Carrot Common. Just vertically above the Big Carrot and clearly visible from my clinic window is a beautiful roof garden and herb-garden. I will often spend my lunch time here. Perhaps I pick up a light salad at the Big Carrot and take the stairway just five yards from the exit. It’s a little slice of paradise and a break from the frenetic pace of Toronto.

I have been vaccinated against COVID 19

As many of you know, I was away in Mexico for the past six months and returned to Canada during the first week of August. As a property owner in Mexico, I was able to receive both vaccines before my return to Canada and, for that, I am very greatful. Still, I believe there is no room for complacency and, for however long it takes, I will follow guidlines for social distancing and mask-wearing. At my clinic, I will be practicing all hygiene protocols as required by Ontario Public Health both for your own and my safety. Certainly, I  prefer to err on the side of caution.

Immune tonic in a time of Covid

Quite apart from the importance of frequent hand-washing and social distancing, there are things that you can do to avoid getting sick. Part of building a strong immune system is the importance of eating a healthy diet (think of it as the right octane fuel for your body) and regular exercise. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we talk about defensive (Wei) Qi. If your defences are in place, then your chance of staying well are that much greater.
